If you watched the latest X-Men movie, you may notice the last scene after the credit. It's about someone being able to transfer consciousness to someone else's body (don't want to spoil the movie here). It's not serious thought though. It's just for the convience of the next X-Men movie.

The movie I highly recommend to watch is the ghost in the shell series. Much deeper thought. Very good Japanese anmi.

A lot of people didn’t really get Ghost in the Shell, but I think that it is a very interesting meditation on consciousness as an emergent property. I found it especially interesting that they explored the concept that if consciousness is an emergent property of a non-human intelligence, it may be similar but also radically different from human consciousness.
